Sear/Mag Safety

Someone was interested in what the sear safety looked like.

Here are a couple of pics of both sear and mag safety.

The sear safety is located on top of the sideplate and is riveted to just above the sear.(Notice that someone has bent the sideplate) The mag safety is located from the side panel(notice the slot that was milled out)and is positioned to the rear of the trigger. This one has been deactivated, as most were. This pistol is an Artillery rework for the Landjagarei in the City/Town of Trier. It is marked on the gripstrap L.T.129. The barrel is marked C/RC, Simson proofed E/6 and is also marked PTV for the Berlin Police School(armory). The barrel was not serial numbered to the gun. Steve

Re: Thanks

John,

I have a Luger which has both the sear and magazine safety. The magazine safety in the photo, and mine is the same as the photo, have had the small piece that fits behind the trigger clipped off. There are very few Lugers which still have a working magazine safety and most were totally removed from the pistol. The mag safety did not work very well in actual use.
