Hi All,


Being new at this Luger thing, I was wondering if you could recommend a good reference book that combines both historical and technical details about Lugers along with actual period photographs showing Lugers deployed in wartime?

This book dont have a lot of historical information, but it have the bigest collection of really SUPERB luger photos i have seen.

I know to little about the historical things to value the historcial experts here.

For information from A to Z, try Walters "The Luger

Book". This book is in encyclopedia format with numerous

photos.

I am also new at this game and I found 3 electronic books being sold. I cannot get directly to their page but if you go to www.google.com and type "luger ebook" in the search space, it will bring up the address. Book one is a good introduction to how the Luger works. The next two are on DWM and other variations. The price is right, I think $5.95 US. For an advanced person they may not contain much new information but for one of us starting out, I found them to be helpfull.

I own all three of these books and they are excellent references for
 

new Luger enthusiasts. I recommend them for beginners and old timers alike.


they contain great graphics and even some obscure information about Luger history that the old timers may not have known.


At some point in the near future, there will be a Lugerforum quiz based on at least one of these books to give the newbies a good chance at winning the donated prize!

Originally I bought only the ebook on Luger mechanicals; but I was so impressed with the quality and the graphics that I bought the other two. They appear to be just as good as the first.


As a newcomer to the Luger area I have tried to read everything I could get my hands on. Problem is: A newcomer doesn't know which text to trust. So, it is really good to hear someone like John Sabato refer to them as "excellent references." Would appreciate hearing if anyone finds any errors in them.
