lanyard
Greetings fellow forum members!
I picked up a few of these lanyards. They come from a german collector/seller.. Are they legit? ..value? Pictures are a bit red for some reason.. and the marking "bcb 43" is quite hard to see. :bigbye: http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/pic00147.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/pic00148.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/pic00149.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/pic00152.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/pic00151.jpg |
I have never seen a lanyard in that configuration.

Morgan, These are recently made...The wire swivel is a period design. Joechim Goertz sent me an original lanyard years ago with this type of wire swivel. The rest of the leather fastener and strap show a complete lack of research. The hollow rivets to hold on the fastening button and the square shoulder strap are not right. Also the fact that it has the marking "bcb 43" indicates to me an effort to decieve. This is surely not a Military accepted item nor was it issued.
As Tom says, I have never seen a lanyard such as this one. I have seen many original lanyards. Jerry Burney |
Thanks for the reply!
I will check this out.. the person who sold them to me claims the come from mr Goertz. I'f he reads the forum or not, I don't know.. Steinar |
Steinar, I was in contact with Mr. Goertz for some time many years ago researching Luger Lanyards and he NEVER mentioned this lanyard. How could he? It wasn't made yet. Jerry Burney

Steiner... you are aware that Herr Goertz passed on many months ago...
|
I'm in contact with the seller, refering to the information given in this forum and claiming money back! If things don't work out.. I might be tempted reveal the seller. Don't want you guys to make the same mistake I did..
Thanks, steinar |
The red color may have been caused by having your digital camera set for an incorrect light source. If you are using incandescent, fluorescent, or sunlight, the camera must be properly set for the type of light you are using.

Steinar, This guy has been offering these on eBay for a coup[le of months if I remember right.
Nothing wrong with a repro as long as it's done right. Unfortunately this in no way represents a German Military lanyard. Somebody's backyard fabrication. Hope you are able to retrieve your Kronar, or is it Euro's?. Jerry Burney |
Have seen lots of them sold by one guy - all "Original" and in brand new condition. I suppose he let them produce somewhere in the East Europe.
Don´t know where this seller got this lanyard for that auction? |
It seems like I lost quite a few "kroner" on these lanyards.. :( The seller has gone underground.. Probably sitting in a hole with his beard counting all the money;) But I have learned my lesson.. kinda sad that you cannot trust people all the time. Where I live, people don't lock their front doors, leave keys in the car when they park etc.. thats probably going to change in a few years I'm affraid. Anyway.. Have a nice weekend everyone! Time for some bird/rabbit hunting for me:)
