Luger in an auction

How many of you collectors would like to buy this Luger that I saw at an online auction?

Can you just imagine the grips being cracked?

Not a very good practice, especially if you are not carefule...

but the vise jaws are padded with rubber,

... and if the person has a gentle hand on the tightening, stopping when just enough force has been used to keep the gun from dropping, it could be okay...

Looks like wood and rubber on the vise pads...

My thoughts on this...

I understand that this fellow probably just didn't have any better way to hold the gun for photography and just plain didn't that anyone would see this as being a horrible thing to do to a gun.

That said, what a horrible thing to do to a gun. Even if this didn't harm it in any way, what kinds of things does he do to guns while not taking pictures of them? He probably didn't see anything wrong with this practice. Then again, I know people who don't think pointing the muzzle at you ("But it's unloaded!") is such a bad idea either...

:(
