Which is best book to buy

I am trying to decide whether of buying Lugers at Random or Jan's book on Nazi era Lugers.

Can anybody give me some advise. I can't handle buying them both now.

Jan's first, but do try and get a copy of LAR sometime.

If you have decided that your interest is Nazi era Lugers, Still's book is by far the best choice as it contains much more detail on these weapons. If you are new to collecting and undecided about what you wish to collect, Lugers at Random is a very good basic overview of the many variations of Lugers from all eras and will aid in identification of most Lugers you will encounter.

Thanks for the advise. I will order Jan's book today.

I just picked up a copy of Lugers At Random. It is a great reference book for variations. There is enough information in it to keep me confused and amused for years to come!

For Swiss luger interest, V. Bobba's big book cannot be beat...Simpson's has them new for $ 125 :
