Interesting Luger on Gunbroker
Hey guys take a look at this Luger on Gunbroker. Single digit serial number with an "a" suffix.

A pretty nice example for about 1/5 the price. The wood base of the magazine appears to have a -whole lot- more carry-wear than the rest of the gun...

So what your saying is this pistol is more like a $1000 gun?? Im just trying to learn. Thanks clint |
Clint,
He's trying to make a lot out of having a low serial number. In 1917 there were 14 DWM Lugers with the serial# 3, ranging from no-suffix to n . Only the no-suffix gun would merit a premium, and only a sawbuck or three at that. He' also trying to make something out of having a matching magazine. From the photograph I am suspicious that it might be an old commercial magazine that has been stamped with a 3 . So what I am saying is that I would only want to pay $700-$800 for such a Luger, but recognize that it might reasonably expect to be sold for $1k or so in today's online auction environment. --Dwight |
