Fourth of July, Baseball and Apple Pie..

Hey, since I live in the Seattle area, how 'bout them Mariners? Have a safe Independence Day (think about where we would be without guns). It's a good day to watch "The Patriot" with Mel Gibson..(forget that he shoots twice from a flintlock that he doesn't reload).

"Take me to your Luger!"

I shot a precussion cap rifle once!

And spent the next couple of hours getting the **** out of my eyes!! (I'm left handed!!!) Also had a little life trial, when as a 14 year old kid reloading 20 ga. shotgun shells with my trusty Lee Loader, I learned that Alcan AL 5 way waaaaayyyyy different then Hodgcan (sp.?) H.S. 5.....the forearm of my Dad's Browning light 20 disintergrated right in my hand! and I spent the next few hours getting the **** out of my eye's! ( yep, left handed!).....boy, did I get whipped!!...Happy Fourth to all! till...later...G.T.

Another Luger lefty!

Try shooting a Garand lefthanded; knowing to expect that WHAAAANG and garbage going by.

GT, Count me amongst the lefties. Soon after being introduced to the Colt Govt model by the military, and getting tired of being hit in the forehead by ejected empty cases, I switched over to shooting right handed. As I recall, we are only the elite 10%, that nothing is designed for, of the general population. Tom

Right Handed-Left eyed.

I'm right handed but my left eye is the dominant one. When I was about 10, my father saw I was shooting my cut-down 22 rifle left handed and asked my coach about it. Coach said, Don't do anything. If you try to switch him, it'll only screw him up". Of course, at my present advanced stage of decrepitude, I probably could shoot with both eyes closed and right handed and score as well as I have recently. At least I can hear it go BANG!

Ad, did I have the gun for you! At the last Astrohall gun show I sold a 1903 Mannlicher Schoenouer that had a crooked stock built for a "left eyed-right handed shooter". I don't believe the stock was original to the gun, but it definitly had been on the gun for many years and was of european style.

Aw shucks. You sold it; and I need it so! (EOM)

Re: MS left eyed rifle?

HÃ?Â¥kan, No I did not fire it. I tried to get my wife to test it for me, but she just called me an ugly name and told me to stick it in an uncomfortable place!
