Replacement grips
If I were to replace my grips using another pair of wooden grips would they fit properly? Or are they hand fit to each pistol?
Thanks again. |
Hi Mike,
Depending on the grips. They may need to be fitted. Usually just a bit of minor shaving of the flange on the back of the grips. A tiny amount at a time. Ron |
Mike, Most all new repro wood grips come oversized and require some fitting. Used ones or originals that have previously been fitted to a luger may be undersized for your particular PO8. That's why when I sell a set of original grips, I alway offer a money back guarantee, as fitting my be a problem. TH

Most grips for the Mauser made Lugers are slightly too wide to fit DWM & Erfurt Lugers correctly, and vice-versa, the DWM & Erfurt grips are slightly too narrow to fit the mauser frames properly. :(

Repair
Hugh, I just sent you a PM.

Get some grips from CML in UK. They fit my 1941 S/42 luger PERFECTLY and had great wood grain character. Compared to the cheap Indian-made ones, they excel, even in price.

Do you have their web address? |
I believe that CMR International may be out of luger grips at the moment, but you can try them at: cmr.international@btinternet.com TH
