Erfurt unit marking barrel 4"
Hello to alls
I just submit to you unusual unit marks on a Erfurt short barrel sn 415 : 44.A.5.1. Hope you excuse the quality from the pics , as I said on other forum ,my dog take the camera for a bone :grr: http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload..._1914_gche.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload...t_1914_drt.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/top_copy1.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/glissiere_drt.jpg Some inside vue: http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/carcasse_g..jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/grips_int..jpg And the most important: http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload...14_vue_bas.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/grip_mark.jpg Regards :bigbye: |
Patrice, great pictures even if the dog ate the camera, As far as I can tell the grip strap markings mean Feld Artillerie-Regiment 44, Battery 5, Waffen # 1. If I'm not correct on this someone will jump in and give the right designation.

Patrice, Thank you for presenting your fine 1914 P.08 Erfurt. As is known (Jan Still, Imperial Lugers), only 7000 of these were made in 1914, as Erfurt was concentrating on LP.08's. This piece appears correct in every way and is in the proper serial range. Contrast this to several "1914's" presented earlier with notches in the receiver, relieved sear bars, and one proof on the magazine bottom, if available. Patrice, do you have a photo of the magazine bottom? Also, this is the first unit marked 1914 P.08 I've seen as probably less than 10% were so marked. Again, thank you Patrice, for sharing these pictures with us.

Sorry for the bottom mag but the mag don't match to the gun and no having a erfurt mag with three numbers digit.
All the other parts are numbered to the gun , the grips screws have the little gothic letter , the front sight too. Regards..Pat.. |
