Good point . How ya doing, Tac?

Good to hear. Too damn hot here to do anything. High today will be 97. I've got an Anshutz 1451 .22 with a 3x9 scope, squirrels hate that thing. You wouldn't be preparing for any "interesting" activities, would you?

I remember reading once about an operation called "Sea Lion", the people of GB were prepared as best they could for foreign visitors. Being that the previous invasion was successful (1066?) and the long term ramifications which resulted, there was no desire to have it repeated. Situation now is that the invasion has already occurred and the citizens, with few exceptions, are disarmed.

Hi RK,
The dagger is a Hitlerjugend Leader's dagger. The leather is someone's fantasy. And Tac, I find it something of a sea change in your part of the world that the special branch folks are shooting to kill and when they make a mistake, an apology is rendered but the policy is unchanged. Hang in there, your American cousins are with you. Tom A. |
Moral of the story, when the Police give a lawfull order, stand down and answer their questions. Looks like the alternative in GB is to become a lead magnet. I guess the billy clubs just wern't working out...Jerry Burney

Thanks Tom, it surprises me at the stuff that shows up on German Auction sites. You would think that being "there" it would stand to be less susceptible to fraud. Value to the dagger?

RK, It is my understanding that the pommel should have a swastica instead of the orange flower shown. Jerry Burney

RK, et al,
There is more fake stuff in Europe than you can imagine. I was working for a client in Warsaw, PL about 8 years ago and there were shops that specialized in making III Reich era stuff that had storefronts. Be *VERY* suspicious of Nazi stuff from Europe. Tom A |
Deem the same suspicion appropriate with a lot of stuff turning up in the U.S., IMHO.
Where there's a market, the fakes are around. |

The market is so small.. not much money to be made faking stuff. Be *VERY* suspicious of Nazi stuff from Ebay ;) |
