Dehumidifier
I keep my accumulation of military junk in my basement. Its completely dry and sealed. Have never had a water problem there. But due to the habit I have of taking home (after usually paying good $ for ) every piece of web gear, canvas, leather, helmet, belt, ammo pouch, ect, ect, the basement was starting to smell. It might have been the 1969 body bag or the WWII Russian helmet that whoever wore it never washed his hair. Who knows. After convincing my wife it wasn't my stuff that was so stinky (Lord, forgive me for that) and that it was just the lack of circulation, I went to Lowe's and got a GE dehumidifier. This thing cost $213 tax incl. and has a three gallon tank. Guys, I empty it twice a day. It took about a week but now the smell is gone. The mold and mildew is gone. Just something for consideration.
