http://www.jacksonarmory.com/index.htm Looks like a nice gun shop to visit if in the Dallas, TX area... Hard to tell from the photos, but I like the wear on the right side of the trigger, I like the look of the screws, and I think I see some old fire blue on the front toggle pin and maybe the front sight. Overall, the gun has a tint of brown patina to it as well...especially at the checkering of the toggle knobs... I do think the $ 2K price is somewhat high. http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/1908_comm_1.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/1908_comm_2.jpg Same photos lightened up a bit : http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload...mm_1_copy1.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload...mm_2_copy1.jpg Simpsons LTD has one for sale for a bit over $ 1400...not quite as nice, though : http://www.simpsonltd.com/product_in...oducts_id=2206 |
Definitely a nice 1908 commercial, Pete. Seems well worth the money. I don't understand why 1908 commercials do not command higher prices.

Doc,
It is clear to me that, with the exception of American Eagles (DWM were pretty smart, that stamp still sells guns) there is not much collector interest in Commercial Lugers. --Dwight |

The Jackson Armory folks have been around for quite a while, I have purchased a few items from them over the years, very nice, professional outfit.
