Hi Russ,

Anyone know who does the wooden "furniture" for Martz...?

Russ 07-18-2005 12:19 AM

Hey Pete
I am not shure. But they do a great job.

I have been told, but don't remember. I believe GT told me it was a gentleman from California.

That price is not really out of line. Back around 89 or 90 when I worked in Roseville I went over to John's house during lunch one day and he had just finished a Luger carbine, a standard model not a Navy one, and he wanted $7500 for it then. He really does beautiful work.

Info from Doug Coffey, John Martz's woodworker is George Sarkisian (spelling questionable)

Herb, I wasn't suggesting the price was out of line. What I was trying to convey was my disbelief that they would offer something for sale which was that pricy without a picture.

The wood is in the outstanding category, not only the work, but the character. Wow.

I don't know if I want this one to remain on the market for long. It's too tempting.

Can you imagine the fun Martz has doing these ? What a way to spend your work day !!
