El Paso Saddlery
Has anyone bought or handled the "1900" holster from El Paso Saddlery? Is it a good replica? Does it fit your Luger well?
El Paso Saddlery (I have bought holsters from them before & found them to be of the highest quality. I'm really more interested in the historical authenticity of this replica.) Thanks, Greg |
It is the most authentic replica you can get. The pattern was made from a genuine US Test Trial Rock Island Arsenal holster. The original holser was owned by an advanced collector, John Morgan, and it had some missing stitches. John took it to Bobby McNellis of El Paso Saddlery to have it hand re-stitched. While it was disassembled, Bobby made detailed patterns and it is from these patterns that the holster they sell is made.

Thanks for the reply. Very helpful info. Greg |
I have one and it fits my 1906 4.75" perfectly! I agree with Ron about the quality also.
If you want it to fit one of the new stainless guns, the flap will not close. The gun is slightly different in width and the hole in the flap will not reach the post. The hole would need to be about 0.5" closer to the edge of the leather. Just a heads up to anyone with a stainless gun. Steve Richards |

Is there a good replica holster that WILL fit the new stainless guns?

If you are interested, I could make a drawing showing where the current hole is and where one would need to be for a stainless gun (at least mine). Maybe they would reposition the hole when they make the holster.
