Kreigs Marine Holster Value
At the Portland Gun show a well known Luger Collector had an Eagle/M marked holster for sale. I don't recall the maker or the year only that it had the E/M stamp. It was black and made for the 4" Luger, it was in Good to Very Good condition. Asking price was $350, would this be a good buy? What should one look for in assessing Navy marked holsters?
Thanks, Bob M. |
That holster would have left with me if I'd seen it.
A bargain. Buy condition, condition, condition...and I mean the leather's condition. Don't sweat the stitching. Jerry B. can handle that part easy. Tom A. |
Hey Bob,
If you'd like, forward me the seller's info. to pebbink@pacbell.net and I will be happy to make inquiries about this holster's authenticity and condition...:D |

Thanks for the input. I believe the collector in question is above reproach, but another collector told me he thought the holster might be fake and the first collector didn't realize it. I will try to get some photo's of the stamp and post them. Leather looked good but not new, no gouges or abraded areas. The same collector had a Gothic S K date for sale, he was looking for $2450. The condition was good, about 85% my guess, some roughness on the lower edge of the side plate, quite a bit of straw on the trigger and other small parts. It looked to be all matching (didn't check the grips) but the obvious parts matched, (No S on the grip screws). It didn't appear to be redone. I was trying to trade for it, as I didn't have the cash. We may still make a deal on this one. I probably could have sealed this but he wanted two of my better pieces and I wanted to give him one of the better ones and one of my lesser condition guns. I am looking for something else he may want. If I don't deal on this I'll pass his name along if your interested. Thanks, Bob M. |
