Mag ID?
 

I bought 2 well used Luger mags a while back for $30 each. These are aluminum bottom mags with serial numbers, prefix ,and eagle 63 proofs on the base. The mags are coil spring style, and pretty much identical with old wooden base mags(excepting the base and only one retaining pin). I figured that these were mags made for pre war/early war Mauser Lugers.

Despite being pretty well used , these magazines work perfectly in my mismatched Mauser pistol freeing up my fxo mags for my other pistol.

I was interested in finding out what era these mags were from, and who might have manufactured them?

Nickeled mag body, or blued?

Droop eagle or stick eagle?

Hi Stevie, chances are they are from a 1937, 1938 or 1939 Luger. The answer will depend on the size of the Waffenamt Mark and the suffix. If you post photos, I'm sure we can help!

Please post the serial numbers and suffix. You may have a mag that I or another forum member needs.

I have mags marked with #'s 7242 with probably a z suffix and 3540 with maybe an l suffix. 3540 also has a + on its base. Both have eagle 63 on base peice. I ain't good with the suffix letters but check list 1 in tech info.

Both of these mags match my "ultra rare" 42/42 mismatched Mauser( and function great). But if someone could match one, I might would maybe trade?
