G-date with No suffix
The K-dates started with #1 and ran up to around 1700A. I think #4 is the lowest known. The first G-date that I know of was 933a, but Tom said he had one in the 700a range. The K-dates are mixed in from the 700a to the 1700a range. There is no such thing as a G-date in the No Suffix block that I have ever heard of, until now, as that would date them before a lot of the K-dates. I had K-date 357a and have 460a, both with B/90 S/91 proofs. If you have a G-date with no suffix it Must have these proofs -- B/90 S/91 to even be remotely correct. What acceptance marks does your guns have? I'd look those G-dates over really good, as anything is possible, but these do not fit properly into the time frame of things.

Re: G-date with No suffix
My G-Date (#4153 - no suffix) is proofed with W/154 & S/92 with the eagle (early)german army acceptance proof, all on the receiver. (identical to the one on page 28 of Still's book on the Lugers of the Third Reich for sn 539b). There is a single late army proof E/swastika on the front of the trigger guard.

Re: Eagle proof on Trigger Guard front
Eagle/Swastika proof on Trigger guard! I have seen this on one other Luger, always wondered about it? I have no clue! Thor

Re: Eagle proof on Trigger Guard front
Greg & Ted, If in fact there is no suffix a thru f on the front of this frame (below the serial number), I suspect that this was an unnumber armour's spare frame (I've had a couple of them over the years, usually marked E/63 on front of the trigger guard) that was renumber to the rest of the pistol. Are the digit on the front of the frame exactly the same die set used on the left receiver? I doubt it.

Re: Eagle proof on Trigger Guard front
I'm trying to get some pictures of the serial #. How do I send them from a diskette?
