Old French 9mm ammo
hey guys, I bought this a couple of years ago at a gun shop... I think it is the same thing that Randy Bessler has on his website, but mine is in 9mm... More rare, common????
Randy's link to ammo: http://www.collectorfirearms.us/Ammu...scriptions.htm Value for this? ;) ed http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/ammo_007.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/ammo_005.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/ammo_006.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/temp2_113.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/temp2_112.jpg |
Hey Ed,
Your ammo is a typical marking on commercial cartridges produced by "Societe Francaise de Munitions" formerly Gevelot & Gaupillat ; Paris What is the roman numerals or markings in the one segment on the headstamp ???? can't read it from picture glare.......... I see the SFM and the stars but cant discern what the other marks are ????? this ammo appears to have been produced in timeframe from 1930- 1939 but my reference material is a bit sketchy .............. Value ?????? is a subjective thing as we all know.........i know i couldn't afford $ 400 a box for it................especially while momentarily unemployed at this time......... BTW, you still coming to Chattanooga in the near future ??............... Regards, Paul |
hey Paul, apprecaite the help.
why yes, I am flying out to Chattanooga June 12th :) Can we hook up then? I will be there until that Thursday AM... Will check the markings later after I get home ;) Ed |
The other marks are G and G
As you said SFM for Soci©t© Fran§aise de Munitions , the two stars , GG for G©velot & Gaupillat. Regards....Pat |
