Joh Huber Holster
I have been offered a light brown navy Luger holster with belt loops on the back. No indication of there ever being loops for shoulder straps. There isn't a date on the holster but there appears to be a manufactures mark embossed on the outside back. Forgive my spelling but I am trying to read some not-so-good pictures. The manufacture seems to be Joh Huber and the location seems to be Satteret Mungner. Does anyone have any information on this holster? Could this be a holster specifically made for the German Marines and for a Model 1914 navy?

Norm,
What you have is referred to as a Navy Type II holster. They were manufactured with belt loops because they were intended for issue to Naval infantry in Flanders. Huber is a well known saddler of the period. I have several Huber holsters both Type I and Type II as well as a version that closes with a strap and stud with the running end of the strap up vice down as in 99% of the Hubers I have examined. Thank you Tom. Big Norm
