Axle Pin Dia.
At the risk of getting shot at, here goes.......I went thru all the very old post's on the infamous 1916 & 1917 axle pin dia. And my question is why would any one go thru the tremendous amout of work to reproduce a navy luger and not change the axle pin dia which is a very simple procedure to do.
There are a lot of very valid points mentioned both pro and con. Has any one ever seen written documentation on the pin size ? Thanks Leo |
Leo,
The hole diameter through the rear toggle and the frame are described as being 7.20 mm, and the recess for the flange is identified as being 8.05 mm in diameter. Pin Diameter is 7.18 mm (allowing only 2 hundredths of a mm clearance) Head Diameter is 8.0 mm (allowing .025 mm gap around the head) These dimensions come the Infanterie Konstruktionsbureau 1913 blueprints for the standard short frame P.08 on the CD that I sell. Unfortunately, the diameter for the larger head, and the hole dimensions for the Navy Luger are not included on these blueprints. Note: anyone wanting a copy of this CD, they are $25.00 via paypal, including first class postage... PM me if you are interested. |
Thanks John.....I will file this info and look for more.
There was a thread posted either on this Forum or on Jan's site that gave the large pins size dimensions but I can not locate it. Leo |
