Webleys

Anybody here like Webleys besides me? For some reason they are so ugly they are appealing. (sort of like my dog) They have a certain feel and class all to themselves. Here are mine:

I like 'em, and yours look great. One of these days I want to get one of those little jobs with the bird head grip (can't remember the model off the top of my head, I think it is a MK1 - 1887). Of course I have always wanted a Webley-Fosbury, but never could save up enough out of the Luger money to get one!

Me too. They're certainly robust and some of the earlier ones are quite elegant, as Ron notes, (not to mention an extensive active service history).

One of the earlier guns you could get a speed loader for as well ? Quite an efficient design. Currently I have a WWII 38 and the equivalent Enfield copy. My Enfield is a nicer gun in many respects, but you never know what abuse they've suffered in the past. Shame about the anaemic caliber.

So many guns, so little money !

Yes, mine has been converted to 45 ACP, no finish; it is one I should send to Ted...

Shoots like a charm, I'd use it to keep screaming hordes of maniacs at bay anyday...

That holster look familiar, Ed? Thanks again. I bet when you hear the "thump, thump, thump" of a marching band you put on your red union suit, find a white sun hat and suspenders, get out your trusty Webley and wait behind the couch for a horde of Zulu warriors to attack while waving their razor sharp assegais like a pro football cheerleader waves her pompoms at the superbowl. Shaka Zulu in person.
