Pete

Pete. Does the $1750 `-1900 range you quoted me for a brown 29 Swiss apply to a 95% gun? I also have a 1917 dated Swiss holster. The straps have a piece riveted on which forms a loop . What was this for? Thank you for your help. It is appreciated! Bill Lyon:cheers:

I took his answer that way, on the other thread....

But I am sure Pete will come along and straighten us out.... :D

Hi Bill,

Yes...I think a 95% original finish brown Bern would go for $ 1900 or so. If it were a commercial, those seem to go for $ 2500-3000.

Yes...lugers are addictive..you have been warned...:D

I cannot visualize the loop on your holsters...could you post a photo or two...? Or send them to me and I will post for you...???

Pete Thank you again. The holster straps are the same as shown in Benders large book on page 467 and in Walthers Luger book on page 266. I have been collecting Lugers for 35 years but this is my first Swiss.Thank you. Bill

Hi Bill,

My guess is that your shoulder strap was lengthened to add some strap length for a taller owner of the holster...or a fellow with a longer torso...

I have seen and had own one strap for a M1929 holster that was cut down on one end for a shorter/petite shooter. One end of the strap was cut down (lost the pinch-type connector) and was just looped and rivoted through the d-ring on the holster.

Hope this helps...

The holster that goes with your brown M1929 is the one Bender shows on page 475...

p.s. You might want to chase down a M1900 Swiss-DWM luger. I think those are the prettiest of the bunch...but since you are getting a brown M1929 Bern, you will, of course, need to also get a red and black M1929 Bern...and so another Swiss infection begins...

Regards,

Pete...:typing:
