Early prototype?
Take a look at auction arms item # 6651991. What are your thoughts on this early "presentation Luger"?
|
Tom, this same gun was discussed on the forum a year or so ago. Let me find the thread...
Ed maybe this one? http://forum.lugerforum.com/showthre...&threadid=1875 |
I would guess this one should have "GL" on the back of the rear toggle...I would ask for photos, first...
|
It does not have a "GL" marked toggle. It has been re-barreled (has a "shield" DWM barrel inspection stamp) and reworked (Notice the Crown/N proof) for commercial sale.
|
so what your saying is the seller should probably clarify what they have for sale fo such a piece. I dont believe in 'buyer beware' as a valid argument for items like this. They really should come out and say it has been modified from original if in fact it has. my 2 cents. and thats all i have left after the Rock Island Auction.

Thought I would post the seller's photos here on the LF before the ad disappears from A-A :
Gun appears to be # 10060 B : http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/10000b_1.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/10000b_2.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/10000b_3.jpg |
