Buying Luger.What to look for

Folks: I am a collector of GI 45s.I have been offered two lugers for purchase.I haven't seen them yet.I would like to know if there is a site where I can get a printout of things to look for .I would like to be able to check originality.I understand there are 3,000 varieties of Lugers.I just need the basics to examine these pistols and then to research them further after I have basic info.Thankyou,Tommy45auto

Don't know how I got over the hill without ever getting to the top!

Welcome Vincent to the forum!

Your best bet is right in front of you, this forum :)

I could say, watch for this and this, and then it ALL depends on what year, what manufacturer you have in your hands.

So, the best thing I can say is, ensure it is all matching and it is all original, i.e. not reblued.

Find out, and take lots of digital pictures of each luger. Lugers are just like 1911A1's, they were rearsenaled at times, they had parts swapped etc., but in the luger world, more original equals better collectability.

Get the basic info of the guns, then post back here...
