Price guideline
Hello to all,
Is there some type of reference work for the value of Luger holsters and equipment? Thanks for any direction to this neophyte. Jim |
No, not for value.
One of the best things is to look on line and check the "retail" prices, and then places like e-bay is a very good place to look. Ed |
Ed,
Thanks for the reply. That is what I have been doing. There sure seems to be alot of variation. Jim |
very much so. I collect police, but army is the same, there were hundreds of small and large makers of holsters, thye had to follow a certain pattern, but you still see many variations, plus all the years / eras they were made....

I have a 1914 Erfurt artillery. It does not have a stock or the holster and other leather accouterments. Do you believe that the holster should be a 1914 date? I know the stocks were numbered to the weapon so finding the original will be like looking for the proverbial needle. The LP08 is unit marked but also was imported in the 20's and has the small "germany" behind the serial number. I was recently outbid on a 1914 holster and I know they are few and far between.

In war, you might get anything... Still many collectors try to find one the same year. I personnaly believe that a year before, that year and the year after are likely years that would be possible and probable for a holster... The later the year of the gun, the more the possibility of a holster being older...
Also, a commercial holster of the 1920's would be "correct". eD |
Ed,
Thanks again for the help. Jim |
