1938 Holster with pictures
wondered if anyone could tell me the value of this holster. Dated 1938 Ernhardt&Kirsten, Taucha, WaA170. Very good condition with crazing to the strap. Thanks. Having trouble posting pictures.
Fred Hawkey I think I figured it out. Anyway 1938 dated holster as stated Ernhardt & Kirsten, Taucha, 1938, Eagle with Swastika, WaA170. Sorry about the quality of the marked photograph. It is actually very crisp. Any thought on value? Thanks again, Fred http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/hawkeyholster3.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/hawkeyholster2.jpg http://forum.lugerforum.com/lfupload/hawkeyholster1.jpg ADMIN: Please post photos here on the forum, otherwise, once photos are deleted from photobucket, they make the thread worth much less for research. ebt ALSO, I moved the thread here, no reason to start another when it is the same thread for this holster... Fred, wlecome to the forum.
What trouble are you having in posting pictures? Are they under 200 kilobytes? Can't figure out what to do? Much depends on the holster for value, i.e. color, condition, if it is army or police (most likely military for that date), etc. ed |
Ed,
I'll try the pictures again later. The holster is dark brown, all stiching is tight and good. The fastening strap is crazed, other than that in very good shape. I believe it is military and not police. Thanks Fred |
Wow Fred... we haven't heard from you in a VERY long time... welcome back to the Lugerforum. Sorry I couldn't help with the holster without photos... look forward to seeing them.

John,
I check in quite often actually, just been quiet. Fred |
Administrator,
I could not get the pictures to upload using the forum. I don't know what I was doing wrong. Sorry about that. Fred |
Photos corrected.

Fred,
Regarding the value of the holster. Best to look on eBay to get an idea of what the market is bringing. If this were my holster I'd have Jerry Burney replace the strap because the holster is in real nice condition. One wonders how the strap got in such bad shape. I'd give a WAG that it would bring $250-$375. It just depends on what phase the moon is in and if it has rained. Tom |
Fred,
Oh, I forgot to add the value would also depend on whether or not Tom Armstrong sees it and likes it; then there's no telling. Tom |
thanks

...maybe the original owner was bored on his duty station and just practiced a lot of quick-draws...
Wonder if the inside of the holster has all of the luger's bluing transferred to the leather...??? |
Send it to Jerry!!!!!!! Take a look at my 1913 Eckart pics and see what a very few bucks and a piece of leather can do in the hands of a craftsman.
