I'd like to react on a thread of october 2004, where someone said:
Bob, I agree with your Novenber 1941 estimate. The byf 41 went into the B-Block. Serial Number 1121b is the highest I have recorded. My VoPo has serial # 5531 s. Who is wrong? |
And a few orther pics of my VoPo:

VERY accurate pistol! Wil |
I don't know what the first post you referenced was addressing. According to Jan Still's Thrid Reich Lugers there were approx 126,000 41 byf's made and the range goes from 3300n thru 9950a. Hope this helps.

Ed,
Thank you for making it clear to me. So my gun must have been made in the end of 1941. BTW it is defenitely an s. just took another picture. |
Wil, your pistol, S/N 5531s, was completed about May 1941.
The byf Lugers started with the "n" suffix, then the "o" suffix and so on through the "z" suffix. Then there were 9999 pistols with no suffix, the the "a" suffix and finally the "b" suffix. |
Guys,
So she's about one year from retiring... Still going strong. Thanks Wil |
