Holster storage
I keep my holsters in plastic freezer bags.
In a box, would it be better to store them on edge (one layer) or flat, (with possibly two or three layers). Or are there other ways of storing them? (I do not have the storage space to keep them in a box in a single layer.) |
One of my friends bought some storage boxes, specifically made for the size of pistols, holsters would work too, he is doing this with his pistols, he can write on the box, and stack them in his safe.
I would worry that plastic freezer bags might trap moisture? But being freezer bags, they might be a good idea? Other people?? |
Ed, Providing they are not moist before putting them in they should be OK. Holsters and other leather items adjust to whatever moisture might be in the air. Actually sealing off air might inhibit growth of organisms or mold. I have a food sealer that sucks all the air out of a bag. That might kill off any mold. If I can find a moldy holster somewhere I should try it out. Wonder how long you would have to leave it in an airless environment for it to be effective? Jerry Burney
