Holster Identification

I have a holster for a luger with the following markings:

J.R.65
1912 1913
F.M.GAZ
I
l.B.

These markings are stamped into the inside of the flap.

There are three names in ink written in the inside of the flap.

On the outside of the holster is the manufacturer of the holster:

F.W.KINKEL
MAINZ

The pistol that came with this holster is a 1940 Mauser Banner, Eagle L

Any information as to the origin, age and value of the holster would be greatly appreciated.

Thank You.

Origin is easy, made by F.W. Kinkel (maybe one man, maybe a small company) and from the city of Mainz, a nice german city.

Can you provide pictures??

Is it converted to a police holster?

And WELCOME to the forum!

Sorry about the quality of these pistures. Hope they assist in identification.

How about another.

Does anyone have an idea as to its value? Would it have more value if sold separately or with a 1940 Mauser Banner? Also, the magazine does not match the dating of the holster, how much does this matter?

Thanks

I would guess the value is from $75 to $150, all depending on who wanted it and when and where it was sold. It is a bit rough, but don't put anything on it, except maybe Hide Food by Connoly's.

Being a 1913, it is not "correct" for a Banner, so most collectors would take it with the gun, but it isn't the right years or type ( a police holster is different).

Are you selling the Banner too?

The back straps all ok on the holster? I'd be interested in the holster for a "good" price ;)

:)

I might be interested in the Banner if it's for sale.

The backstraps are both OK, and it has the tool in the pouch inside the lid. I do not know the identification on the tool yet. However, neither pistol or holster are for sale at this time. Maybe in the near future.

thanks

The tool appears to be marked with an Erfurt proofmark which would make it compatible with the holster dates. I will take more pictures if desired.
