Benke-Thiemann Shoulder Stock

Found this on ebay;
http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...sPageName=WDVW
(I have nothing to do with this item)

Besides the ugly aperance.. do they work?
Is there perhaps a cheaper repro of the Benke-Thiemann stock?

Yes, they work. I know of no reproductions. Since they consist of several stamped steel parts rather than machined, making dies to reproduce them probably would not be a profitable venture...unless they were sold as originals, i.e. not cheaper reproductions. Even at that, with the prices originals demand there would not be a big market, so the profit margin might not be worth the time and investment to fake them.

I noticed these; pretty wild really. I assume you'd need a specific ATF exemption to use them on a live pistol as it would be a SBR ?

Anyone know the when / where / how many information ?

Dwight Gruber 04-11-2005 07:23 PM

Stu,

The ATF says, "Luger, semiautomatic pistol, certain variations with Benke-Thiemann folding shoulder stock" are exempted. Of course, they don't say -which- variations are OK!!

Don't know the other info.
