could be a hammer sear issue......hammer at sear engagement/sear at hammer emgagement..... if you have hammer main spring tention, would not think its a spring issue.....but I'm not Thor.......hope this helps

Check with Lugerdoc, I am not a Random expert. He is probably on his way to Tulsa though for this weekends Gun Show.

Thanks, I've taken it all the way down and put it back together several times, everything fits and looks ok but there is no hammer tension. Started off with the hammer not locking back all the time to now it won't stay back at all with no tension. Thanks again

I've got a Radom that my Dad brought back from WW2. Just looking at it, I'm not sure I would ever want to shoot it. It pretty rough looking.

Anybody got any web ref sites to look up a serial number, ect.

dc8ray,

Late-war Radoms can be pretty crudely finished. They are, nonetheless, sturdy pistols, simple enough that not much can go wrong with them.

RK, Your problem could be in either the hammer, sear or sear spring or perhaps just that the parts are not properly install. I do have all of these part in stock. If all else fails, feel free to send it to me for inspection @$25 + $25 return Fed Ex. TH

Tom H, you are right, it was in the assembly. I did not have it back together in the right sequence. Somehow the spring had slipped off the sear. Haven't done much firing with it since I tested it a few weeks ago, did fine then. I've sure been shooting the .44 I got from you, put 50 rounds through it yesterday. Fun gun. Big boom.

RK, I'm glad that you enjoy shooting the .44 Cal. Too big a boom for me. TH
