Radom gunsmith out there?

This is a three lever 9mm, when it fires the hammer won't stay locked back, its like a single action only. I took it apart and from what I can see I think its a weak mainspring. The hammer also drops if you let the slide go forward to chamber a round. Suggestions?

Thanks

Radom

I have a three lever gun but have never fired it. I have relative in Fl w/similar problem as you describe, 2 lever gun, his hammer stays back only if you fiddle with it. Hammer follows the slide forward when fired. He didnt know how to field strip it and I am not sure I do. If you figure it out, I would be interested to know. He has since died and I dont know when I might encounter this gun again.

Here's how to field strip it, detailed breakdown isn't too difficult. Still haven't fixed it though

RK, Sound like a worn sear to hammer connection. It could be either part, which I have in stock. Since the P35P is similar in design to the Colt 1911, most smiths who work on these, can probably assist you. Tom

Thanks Tom, I kept looking at it, finally put it back together in a different sequence, made sure the mainspring went in and was positioned against the sear & hammer, then the squeeze safety to hold the spring in, next the bottom part, somehowthis put the spring tension back on the hammer, got it back together and it worked. Took it shooting yesterday and it functioned fine. Is it possible that the center leaf of the mainspring slipped off the sear/ hammer? I'll try it for a while, if it does it again I'll need a mainspring and sear. Thanks
