Let me count, I 'd need twenty nine more lugers to fill this up so I don't guess I need it. How would you like to find one of these unopened with thirty consecutively numbered S42s w/magazines? Bet you there are some of these in a cave in Yugoslavia or an attic in the Ukraine or a basement in Berlin. With a date of 2/44 most likely was for P38s.

Oh, I had a crate of these, but since I don't collect WW2 specifically, I sold them for $100 a piece. :D





okay, I didn't and wouldn't, this would make a cool display. I wonder if you can peel off the newer paint and leave the old underneath?

I bought one of these about 6-7 years ago. It is *HEAVY* and is for Lugers, does not appear to be compatible with P-38s.
Mine is marked C 216 I N 3-43.

Suspect it was aintended to be a shipping container and also a shipboard arms room for handguns, but I may be FOS; wouldn't be the first time.

Thanks for your concern about my laptop's health.

But I must disabuse you about Jack Daniels. That stuff is AWFUL; I might consider using it to remove laquer stick or hardened cosmoline, but it certainly will not pass my lips. If it is red whiskey, mine will be Jefferson Reserve 15 year old bourbon.

Tom, I sincerely apoligize :) for my lack of decorum and the added unintentional insult to your computer, but down here Jack Daniels is considered the "good" stuff" because it doesn't have a faint taste of radiator coolant or come in a milk jug.

Absolutely no apologies expected or required. Having sojourned in Huntspatch on several occasions, I am completely appreciative of the many charms of the locally produced aperitifs. As I recall, Lynchburg TN is not so far from Huntsville; perhaps that may explain its popularity..it is, in fact, a relatively local product. None for me, milk jug (Used to be Coke syrup jugs),notwithstanding, thanks.

Milk and Coke syurp jugs! Wow! You guys buy in volume. Ball Mason jars were the containers in fashion when I was a young'un. When I was cleaning out the basement after Dad died, I found a quart jar of 'shine stuck up in the floor joists. Dad didn't drink but one of his workers had given him the jar as a gift and Dad never threw it out!

I was in and out of Redstone Arsenal many times over the years, so Huntspatch and the gun stores around there were well known to me.
