Well, this is off topic, I guess,but a comment or two on the forum and reading posts from collectors who can buy and sell Lugers got me to thinking and then deciding to leave NY State and it's restrictive laws for the great state of Pennsylvania,which brings me to my question.Any members from eastern Pennsylvania out there?Since my lady friend is a school teacher I need to know about the schools also.Thanks a lot,sorry for the length of the post,but you guys are responsible for the decision to finally get out of this miserable state.

Bob, good move! Now if you act fast you can apply for a CCR license (an FFL for collectable curio and relic firearms, of which Lugers fall into). In a few short weeks you will be able to sit at your computer, pick out a model of Luger you are interested in, check your resource books (gotta make sure you have those first) then check your wallet (always a good idea anyway) and go right over to our resources section to the left and find what you want. A quick money order, a phone call, and just like magic that Luger shows up at your house. Sounds too good to be true, doesn't it?

That sure does sound like a dream,Bill, and one worth pursuing!I do remember horror stories regarding raids on homes of holders of collector licenses, and my impression from years ago was that it was dangerous to hold one as it gave the feds legal permission to enter and search your house at any time, and the paper work could always lead to technical problems.Recall a Marlin collector having his collection confiscated and destroyed even though he won in court.Has ATFD really reformed enough to be trusted?Well, thanks for your support guys, wish me luck in my Pa.search!

For every law that exists, it seems that there are a hundred exceptions. I know that some townships in some states refuse to honor our rights even if we have all the credentials and play by the rules. Theoretically, a licensed individual is legally allowed to conduct interstate shipping of curio and relic category firearms (Lugers being in this category). Be sure to check into your local and state laws regarding this, though. I am not an attorney, but I do know that "I read that it was OK on the internet" is not a good primary defense.
