Seller spends a little more time on describing the pistol than on the rig. Wonder why?

The leather and wood are in excellent condition for 1914 production. They look as if they were made just last year. :) I wonder what the reserve is on this matching rig?

It is very possible that the leather and wood were made within the last year.

The rig is a phoney and I wouldn't touch the pistol with a ten foot pole.

And Bernie Trojanowski , "The Ten Foot Pole", say's he would'nt touch it either!!

OK I have heard alot of backhand indications that the stuff from the midwest is not always original. I'm planning a road trip back there and would like to know a little more as to who or what shop to check closer. PM if you want, I just trying to get a hang on what is happening to the market with "upgrades". Is this mostly a leather or pistol enhancement problem.

If you are around the first weekend in April, you should come up to the Reno gun show. Lots of LF members will be in attendance, expert and author Jan Still will be there, and it is a good show to see honest lugers as well as many, many reworked pieces sold as originals.
