Lighthearted RC mark survey

Just looking at a matching 1916 Erfurt and noticed on a cursory external inspection that the frame, barrel, cannon and breech block are all RC marked. I'll try to check the internals later.

I suspect this is just a coincidence, but did they assemble guns from a pile of these reject parts or just put them back in the bin after approval ?

I was wondering who else out there has a gun with mainly RC parts and what the count was ?

Stu,

Thanks for the excuse to examine some Lugers!

1911 serial#7638 -no- RC parts!
1912 serial# 454 (rebarrelled) RC marked frame (trigger guard)
1914 LP-08 serial# 3511 RC marked frame (trigger guard)
1917/18 serial# 8895s RC marked receiver (hardness), RC marked rear toggle piece, RC marked frame (above trigger)

I know that this doesn't approach your maximum-parts question, but it will give you a start for a survey. And I suspect, as you, that it is a coincidence, that all the parts went into a bin and were assembled into guns as the parts came to hand.

I have wondered about the distribution of RC-marked parts over time, so I applaud your taking this on.

I have a 1918 all matching rig, including magazines. Crown RC on barrel, cannon and toggle. I never noticed this before, but the 8 in 1918 looks like an S. Any others like this? Is this peculiar to Erfurts?I compared it to a DWM and the DWM has a "normal" looking 8.

Add my two 1914 dated Erfurt 4" barrelled P08's. #7342, RC on front trigger guard and right side of receiver, and #4265, no RC.
