magazine disassemble???

New to Lugers and have a magazine that has grease and grime inside of it. Is there a way to disassemble the magazine to clean? TIA

There is, I wouldn't.

Usually once taken apart, it is obvious it was taken apart. I would be more inclined to shoot WD-40 or someother squirt cleaner and clean it that way.

Is it an aluminum, wood or plastic base?

Thanks, I have been mainly collecting k98 rifles and now starting with pistols. I have found the rifles take too much room in the safe. I picked up a S/42, 1938 that looks like it has been reblued and has import stamp on the underside of barrel. Was thinking of SOG but kinda a hassle to ship pistols to California, even though I have C&R and COE. Numbers match except grips. Still a nice shooter.

The base is aluminum and magazine is marked FXO with number 37 stamped as proof mark on the magazine.

Thanks for the help.

Mag cleaning

Get yourself a can of carbureator cleaner, one with the little red plastic 'straw' it works great, I've done it several times and it won''t harm the metal at all. It'll take all of the grease and grime out, just give it a coat of oil afterwards.
