Safe and Loaded shooter from Ralph Range report.
Finally got a chance to shoot this piece today. fired 7 rounds from 25 yards and got zero mafunctions and 1.5 in group. Piece is about 70-70 finish (almost zero straw) with some lite scattered pitting. bore is excellent. The Group was about 2 in above and 1.25 in. to the left of point of aim. Great gun. David.

Re: Safe and Loaded shooter from Ralph Range report.
I can't do that from 25 FEET. Must be my guns

Re: I had lots of practice.
I shot national match for 5 years 3 gun matches.
Just remember "Hold perfect sight alignment while squeezing the trigger." However it does get harder to do this with bifocals. David. |
I NEED lots of practice
Harder to do with variable focus lenses, too. A friend, who like you had shot National Match, suggested I go back at least one prescription when target shooting.

Re: glasses.
You want to get your front sight in sharp focus. So you want your glasses to focus somewhere around arms length. This farther than comfortable for reading glasses and usually to close for the upper lens. David.

Re: I NEED lots of practice
I did very well shooting bowling pins in dim light with progressives, but after all they are pretty big targets! Thor

Re: glasses.
My friend also emphasized getting the front sight in sharp focus. I really look forward to shooting with my old glasses; to see if there is any difference from shooting with my variable lenses (which I got for flying-so I could read the chart and also see the airplanes I was about to hit).

I have the solution...
![]() I just center a picture of the ex-wife over the "X" ring, and tight grouping is never a problem!

Re: I have the solution...
![]() I would need a multiple face target then, and I would probably miss all of them! lol

Practice, practice, practice...
Prinz and I went to the range today. Prinz was very disappointed. I shot with progressive lenses, with two older prescriptions. It ain't Prinz, nor the glasses....it's me. Prinz got complimented, though, by another guy on the range; who has a also has a Luger. We're meeting next Tuesday for a little luger shootout. Told him of the Forum. Said he'd check it out.
