tired old eyes needs help
I got my first luger and am having a real hard time looking at the proof marks I just cant see them. I was looking at some of the pics posted and the proof marks are in white on the guns. Now I could see that but how did the picture taker get them white. I was thinking of a white crayon but wanted to ask before doing something that might harm the finish of the gun.
If the weather will ever clear up and I can go outside I will take some pics of my new 1917 Erfurt to share. Thanks Kenny |
Kenny,
Use white "Laquer Stick". It's availble on-line from Brownells for about $7. One stick will last forever. White crayon won't harm the finish, but may not adhere to the marks. Ron |
thanks for the info I will make up an order and get me a stick with it.

I usually scan in side proofs with my scanner in a high resolution, then blow it up on the monitor.
And, I moved this thread, if not directly with a subject, it is usually better in the discussions area... Ed |
Birdhunter, I like to use the gold highlighting, I think it adds just a little more class than the white. I use a marking pen that can be found at most any good stationary store under the name of Pilot or Sanford. Not having used the Brownells stick I can't really compare the ease of use with it but I like the outcome.
