The last bid for the whole package was just about correct, $2,400.00.
The box is a repro, as all pistol boxes were taped shut and show some evidence of the tape. Also, Colt put the SN on the box with a lead pencil. I see nothing that ties the Colt to the LCDR. BUY THE GUN, NOT THE STORY!!!!!!!!! |
seller emailed me, said he'd let it all go for $3,500.00... that'd be about $2,000 worth or story?

Here is a military Colt with documentation...
Ens. Tom Anderson was the OOD on the USS Utah when she was struck by two Japanese aerial torpedos a few minutes after 0800 on 7 Dec. 1941. She rolled over and went to the bottom of Pearl Harbor. She took many of her officers and crew with her. He was issued this Colt three weeks later. I acquired the pistol and the holster with rig and documentation from his family in Seattle.... http://www.fototime.com/{B80D66D7-5A...4}/picture.JPG |
