History tracking

Is there any way to find out the history of a peticular Luger? I typed in "Luger 7633" and "Luger serial 7633" as my gun's serial # is 7633 into Google, MSN and Yahoo searches and came up with only my post on a few gunboards about my gun. Is there a German website that has this info on it? Thanks, Bob

No, a definate NO. :( sorry

You might by luck find out what unit, but only if the gun was unit marked...

Bob, Even if there was a German index to all lugers, you did not supply enough information to identify any luger, as in many cases serial numbers were repeted every year. First you need to identify whether a luger is military, commerical, contract, etc. Your best source on doing that is either post photos here on the forum or a good book such as Kenyon's "Lugers at Random". Then list manufacturer (usually shown on center toggle link). Then date of manufacture, which will be stamped atop the chamber area, if a military. Then FULL serial number from the front of frame, including any suffix letter under the numerical portion. Assuming that your luger is not reworked and is matching, you have then identified a particular pistol. TH
