It comes in a Presantation drawer.

Edward Tinker 02-08-2005 10:48 PM

I'll give you the url on gunbroker, ohhhh, duhhhhh gave it away!

Ron Smith 02-09-2005 12:11 AM

Truly one of a kind. Does the drawer go with it? "Der Walther Manufacturing Co."(DWM?)
The sad part is that some poor dupe will probably buy it.

Looks like Walther was even salt bluing the small parts in 1918, lol

Ron Smith 02-09-2005 01:13 AM

They were way ahead of there time. ;) This has to be an original. I've never seen another one like it. And I hope I don't see another one like it.

Russ, They are matching. Both blue, made out of metal, and have little knobby thingies on the bottoms. What more do you want?

Couldn't find it on Gunbroker Ed... what is the url? Was this the only photo?

Edward Tinker 02-09-2005 12:03 PM

I can't find it either... was 3 or 4 pictures. In the description, they didn't say it was a walther, but I thought the picture was funny...

Vlim 02-09-2005 01:53 PM

Deutsche Wardrobe and Munitionsfabriken must have made this, under supervision of herr Walther, who later changed his name to Walter and wrote some books about his work (that was stolen by a Mr. Loeger, who later changed his name to Luger).

Loeger was jealous about Walther's amazing wood working abilities and married Loewe's daughter in order to get his hands on the wood mill. He than started WW1, 2 and 3 in order to gain a good customer base for his material.

You see? It all checks out. You unbelievers....:roflmao:

Edward Tinker 02-09-2005 04:06 PM

Vlim, I just get so confused

Ed,

Just thought that such a lovely mispresented, mismarketed and misunderstood run-off-the-mill VoPo should be backed by an appropriate wrong story :)

Edward Tinker 02-10-2005 02:10 PM

Yes, me to :D

Beautiful,

The book looks pretty correct, though. The seller is probably wondering why the bids aren't rolling in :D
