Double Date marking question
1 Attachment(s)
I'm still in the early learning stage, but this mark on the back of the frame has me a bit confused. This double date is all matching including the grips (but not, unfortunately, the mag) and correct proofs. From what I have gleaned from the reading material recommended, I believe the 1920 on this one is a property stamp and this is not an arsenal rebuild.
I have seen import marks in this location , but not this. The script looks a bit old-fashioned. Any ideas would be appreciated & I can post more pics. If a moderator feels this would be better served in the New Collectors forum, feel free to move it. Bob |
What does the front frame serial number look like, is it re-numbered it like manor?

I have seen, and have at least one in my collection that is marked with a number at the rear. Generally it is considered a unit weapon number by collectors.
Can you provide pictures of the entire left and right? And this location on the forum is perfectly ok, the New Collectors area is just a nice place to go and post if a new user feels they don't know where to post. Ed |

Here are some pics that cover the #s and proofs. I 'm not sure if I can post more than one pic at a time, but I will try.

Forgot this one.... proofs and serial #s seem to be correct for an Erfert as per Lugers at Random.
