A pre-war Walther Mod. PP with a story...

This Walther Mod. PP SN 100012 P is a pre-war production PP that was used by the security police of the Nazi contractor Metall ¼ Eisen G.m.b.H. (Metal & Iron, Inc.) in Nuremburg, Germany. In late 1946 it was confiscated by an American Army officer from a thief caught stealing US Military equipment for sale on the black market. It turned out that the thief was the former head of security of the Metal & Iron Works, Inc. This pistol came with it's original matching holster serial numbered to the pistol and stamped with the company's name, plus the original spare magazine.

This is the lowest known Walther serial number in the "P" block series!

ENJOY... I love historic firearms that talk to you!

John. There are a lot of collectors out there and a very limited number of items for us all to acquire. As much as we like you, even envy you... Could you please save one or two gorgeous examples of fantastic arms for one or two of us to discover and add to our collections?

Outstanding example, by the way. Your safe must be getting full. You can store your overages at my house.

Only a GERMAN thief would use an elegant, gorgeous Prewar Commercial PP and keep it in flawless condition, with matching holster and magazine....

Man, ya gotta love those Germans... sooooooooo meticulous... :-)

Thanks for sharing the cool history and photos!!
John
