Portugese 1935 GNR

Can someone tell me a little about GNR's. When they came into the country and when. Tell me about the nature of their importation and restrictions on any of the parts of the guns. Were they allowed to come into the country assembled as whole units or were sideplates removed to make them inoperable? Any information would be helpful. Thank you

Sam, In reviewing a few ads from 1963 SGN, I see that a Reno importer was offering them as low as $89.95 and $150 for a really good one with all orig blue. But also keep in mind at the same time you could purchase a PO8 for $39.95 or a LPO8 for $79.95 plus S&H.

Sam Cummings of INTERARMS purchased the entire inventory of GNRs from the Portuguese government. Well, actually, he took them in trade on some sub guns the Portuguese wanted. They were imported completely operational, with holsters, some had 2 mags and tools. They are lovely, graceful guns, as are the M2 Portuguese.
