Houston Gun Collectors Association Historic Military Collectibles Show

I saw on Paul Tibbets website http://www.enolagay.org that he will be at this show January 22nd - 23rd. He was the pilot of the Enola Gay. I met him at the Reno Air Races in 2000. I read his book which was really interesting.

Anyway, I thought those LF members in the Houston area might enjoy meeting a legend in aviation and a real American hero.

Wish I could be there Tracyp... I just recently saw the completely restored Enola Gay at the new annex to the Smithsonian Air & Space Museum adjacent to Dulles International Airport... It elicited much "shock and awe" in me to stand close to such history... and shortly after seeing that aircraft, I had the unbelievable experience of meeting John Glenn with my oldest grandson while eating lunch at the museum.... whataday!

According to the CMP, they will just be displaying at show, but will hold your choice for later submission of the required paper work. Enola Gay -- Paul T. was not impressed when I told him at a Louisville NGD show that I had been on his air craft in 1945, when my dad was stationed at Holloman AFB during WW2. I was only 4 at the time, so everything looked very large. Inside space appear much tighter when I visited it years later at Wright-Patterson. TH
