Parts replacement before firing?
 

Hi, folks,
I just got my first LP-08, a very handsome 1915 DWM, all matching numbers throughout. I am eager to shoot it, but don't want to wreck any of the numbered parts such as extractor, firing pin, etc. I have a set of repro grips I will put on it for shooting purposes, and understand I will need a replacement extractor and firing pin installed to prevent possible breakage of the original parts.

Are there any other parts I should consider replacing with spares, before I shoot this new acquisition?

Any information will be much appreciated!

Hi John,

It has been recommended that the entire toggle train be replaced. As these are all critical. And obsorb most of the stress during firing.
I shoot my artillerys with original parts, sparingly, but grit my teeth everytime I squeeze the trigger. I'm too cheap to spend the money, and will probably end up regretting it.

Even without searching... I would replace the ejector... it takes a pounding...

I would contact Tom Heller, Lugedoc on this forum. He would set you up right for replacement parts to protect shooting an original luger. I it would cost less than $100 I think. How about it Tom?

I'd just buy a nice shooter-grade luger to go with it :D
