new to site and have some questions

I have recently become the owner of a Luger that was passed down to me from my grandmother after my grandfather died. There really was no story behind it, so I have been looking around and noticed that mine looks a lot different than those posted ( markings) mine has "1918" stamped on the top and it has the "DWM". I have not seen this kind yet. Please help me findout more about this pistol. Thank you.

Also i have the original paperwork stating my grandfather can bring the pistol stateside. i don;t know if this has any affect on the value, but it does have sentimental value.

Andrew, welcome to the forum! But you ahve to give us a lot more info... So far we know it was made in 1918 towards the end of the WW1 by DWM...

There are lots of 1918's around, and if you do a search, you'll see some.

Can you provide pictures and descriptions of it? Any holster or other items? Things like bring-back paperwork?

Ed

sorry , kinda new to the Luger. S/N 4294; it has a lower case "i" stamped on the bottom of the barrell and a "8.83" Paperwork is the certificate stating it was captured enemy equipment DTD Nov. 11, 1945. also it has 3 symbols that appear to have crowns above each one with a eagle at the end.

If you could post some closeup pics of everything on the gun it would help.

Andrew,
The answer to one of your questions is, yes. The paperwork does add significant value to your Luger. Keep them together.

Ron
