Need info on G43 rifle

German rifles are way out of my line, but I have always wanted a G43 semi-auto, and I have just been shown one in mint condition. Maker is Walther and year of manufacture is 1943. It is all matching, has an excellent bore, a laminated stock, and is complete except for a sling. There are no markings on the stock, but it doesn't look sanded, so am I correct in assuming these stocks are unmarked? Anyway, I have not yet been told the price, but I need to know a general value for this piece. I suspect it is quite valuable.

Just a note: If you plan on buying a G43, do it as an investment, not as a shooter. This is just my opinion, but they are about the biggest piece of junk firearm around. The plus side is they WILL increase in value. I paid 4700$ for an all matching with mount and scope, all orig. Heres a link to the pics:

Many thanks for the great link and for the photos of your outstanding example. The condition of the one i am considering appears comparable to yours, but I didn't realize it should have the tiny waffenamts on the stock, so I didn't look for them in the five minutes I had to examine the rifle. It may even have had a matching number, but could have been very lightly stamped. I will check the stock as soon as I have the opportunity. Of course I would not shoot it, though a friend of mine has a shooter G43 which we all fire occasionally, and it appears to operate well.

Keep us posted on what you did. I like these rifles as well.
