P.38 Hammer drop problems
 

A bit frustrating, I got this byf 44 in that would not function correctly, the hammer would not drop when the safety was engaged. Usually this is a worn hammer drop lever or hammer. Tom sent me 5 hammer drop levers and another hammer to try, no joy with any combinations, rats!!!
Then I found that the hammer pin was nonoriginal and sloppy fitting. This allowed the hammer to move a little too much in the wrong direction and messed up the hammer function. Putting an original pin in there from my P.38 worked. So with a good pin it will work correctly. I learned something again! Thanks to Tom Heller for his help sending me parts to try!
